Biography.

Achdé, whose real name is Hervé Darmenton (HD), is a French comic book author and illustrator, born on July 30, 1961.

Before fully dedicating himself to his passion for comic books, Achdé worked as a radiologist. In 1985, he decided to leave his medical career to focus entirely on drawing. In 1988, he published his first comic book, "Destins Croisés," which he self-published.

In 1991, he joined the French book publishing company Dargaud, for several series, either alone or in collaboration. Among his creations are "Fort Braillard," "Woker" (featuring an interplanetary Tarzan), and "Doc Véto."

In 1993, he launched the "CRS=Détresse" series, about the Compagnies Républicaines de Sécurité - the French security forces attached to the national police, deployed during riots and demonstrations.

After the death of Morris, the creator of Lucky Luke, Achdé was entrusted with the task of continuing the series in collaboration with the writer Laurent Gerra. He stated: "For me, it was a childhood dream; when I was a child, Lucky Luke was my favorite hero, and when I was young, I knew I wanted to be a cartoonist."
