Sylvie Joseph-Julien aka Sjj.
As a modern-day “Renaissance woman” Sylvie Joseph-Julien builds educational and artistic bridges between cultures, languages, and generations. With Sjj AGENCY, Sylvie puts Arts and Literature at the forefront.
Sylvie is the co-founder and president of the board of directors of MADE IN FRANCE, a non-profit organization that promotes the French language and Francophone cultures.
Her knowledge of francophone art, literature, and culture stems from her experience as a cultural guide for world-renowned French landmarks such as the Louvre Museum, the Eiffel Tower, and the Garnier Opera House. As a guide, she realized the importance of sharing francophone culture with the world.
As a reflection of her efforts in the francophone arts and culture industry, in 2021, Sylvie Joseph-Julien was awarded Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters, which the French Government awards to deserving individuals for their advocacy in the field of culture and art. Her role as the co-founder of the French-Belgian Comic Arts festival FESTIVAL BD USA with Jean Bastide – French cartoonist of Billy & Buddy series as well as the founder of LES TROUBADOURS, a francophone book fair for youth, families, and teachers allowed her to be recognized with this honorable achievement.
