Maëla Barçon.

Biography.


Maëla Barçon is passionate about intercultural exchanges and foreign languages. Originally from Brittany, she studied in France, Germany, Czech Republic and Poland. 
In 2021, Maëla joined Made in France as project manager, a non-profit organization that promotes the French language and Francophone cultures in the US and in Spain. Her experience at Made in France, working with Sylvie Joseph-Julien, inspired her to keep promoting the French language and culture abroad. She worked as cultural attaché at the French Consulate General in Saarbrücken in Germany. She currently works as EU project manager.

In 2024, Maëla took part in the traveling Sjj agency Comic Arts Festival "les Troubadours de la BD" with artist Jean Bastide in Ireland. She is also participating in Art residency, conference and workshop series “War & Dictatorship in Children's Literature – How to Talk About It to the Youngest?” organized by Sjj agency in Spain and France in January 2025. Maëla co-authored the war-themed children's book "Sous le Chateau" with Luc
ía Rosmarino and Sylvie Joseph-Julien.
